Fees

Generally no fee is charged for the financial advice provided. This is possible because, on settlement of a loan, commission is usually received from the lender.

A one-off fee may apply where no lender commission is received. Any such fee would be agreed and authorised in writing before the services are completed, and would be based on an estimate of the time spent providing the advice.

A one-off fee may also apply where commission must be repaid within 28 months of drawdown due to repayment or material changes to the loan. Any such fee would be no more than $2,500 plus GST, based on $250 plus GST per hour, and will not exceed the amount of commission that must be repaid. You will be invoiced for any one-off fee and given 30 days to make payment.

Commissions & Incentives

On settlement of a loan, Riona usually receives a commission payment from the applicable lender. This is generally an upfront commission payment but may also include an ongoing trail commission payment. A fixed rate roll over fee may also be paid where assistance is provided with refixing your loan.

From time to time, incentives or rewards may also be received from lenders, such as gifts or event tickets.

Conflicts of interest are managed by following an advice process that identifies your needs and goals, recommending the best product for you regardless of commission, ensuring the amount of any loan is in accordance with your identified needs, providing the lender commission table as part of the advice process, and undertaking regular training on conflict management. If any variations to commission percentages or other commission payments apply specifically to your loan application, these will be disclosed as part of the advice process. Complaints

If you have a complaint about Riona’s financial advice or the service provided, please contact Riona directly by phone or email using the heading Complaint - Your Name. Please set out the nature of your complaint and the resolution you are seeking.

Receipt of the complaint will be acknowledged within 24 hours. The complaint will then be recorded in the Complaints Register and worked through with you. An answer is aimed to be provided within 7 working days of receiving your complaint.
